BLS TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR SCHOOL TEACHERS

Rotary Club of Belagavi in collaboration with P.D. Bharatesh college of Nursing, Halaga, Belagavi, organized Basic Life Support (BLS) Training for School Teachers on 31/08/2021 between 03 pm to 05 pm.

Prof. Dr. Sangeeta A Moreshwar, Principal, P.D Bharatesh College of Nursing, Halaga, Belagavi delivered the welcome address.

The objective of the Training Programme was to provide oxygen to the heart and brain and to sustain tissue viability for a victim with cardiac arrest.

Mr. Anant Nadagouda, President, Dr. Prakash Phadnis, Dr. Sonali Pawale, Dr. Anita K and Prof. Pramod, Members from Rotary Club of Belagavi were resource persons for the training programme.

The participants were from Bharatesh Central School, JRD High School and Kannada Convent Higher Primary School, Halaga, Belagavi.

Dr. Praksh Phadnis conducted the training through power point & Video presentation and Mr. Anant Nadagouda Demonstrated the CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation) & Rescue Breathing on CPR mannequin followed by the Re-demonstration by the participants. Total 27 participants attended the program .

WORLD HEALTH DAY 2021

NSS Unit of P.D Bharatesh College of Nursing, Halaga, Belagavi had organized a Walkathon on the occasion of World Health Day on 7th April 2021 to create awareness about health and wellbeing under the guidance of Prof.Dr.Sangeeta A. Moreshwar, Principal P.D Bharatesh College of Nursing, Halaga, Belagavi.

The WHO theme for World Health Day 2021 is “Building a fairer, healthier world for everyone”.

The walkathon was organized from P.D Bharatesh College of Nursing to Halaga village on the theme given by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences “FIT RGUHS FOR FIT INDIA”. Health awareness was created among the general public using placards and through slogans on quality living ,good health etc.

WORLD TUBERCULOSIS DAY

P.D. Bharatesh college of Nursing, Halaga, Belagavi, Department of Medical Surgical Nursing had organized Display and Presentation of Posters on Tuberculosis disease at Halaga Village, Belagavi on the eve of World TB Day on 24th March 2021 with the Theme: “The Clock is Ticking”- conveys the sense that the Covid-19 pandemic has delayed the progress of curing TB and the world is running out of time to act on the commitments to end TB made by global leaders.

The average prevalence of all forms of tuberculosis in India is estimated to be 5.05 per thousand, prevalence of smear-positive cases 2.27 per thousand and average annual incidence of smear-positive cases at 84 per 1,00,000 annually. In 2020*, a total of 7,163 CASES of TB disease were reported.

Looking into statistics, 4th year B.Sc Nursing students Displayed and Presented the Charts and Models on Meaning, types, causes, diagnosis, treatment modalities and preventive measures of Tuberculosis. More than 100 beneficiaries from the Halaga village were benefitted from the programme.

The programme was followed under the Guidance and Supervision by Prof. Dr. Sangeeta A. Moreshwar Principal, P. D. Bharatesh College of Nursing Halaga, Belagavi.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATION-2021

NSS Unit of P.D Bharatesh College of Nursing Halaga, Belagavi had organized Guest lecture on “Women’s Mental Health : Issues and Challenges” on the occasion of International Women’s Day on 8^th March 2021 under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Sangeeta A Moreshwar, Principal, P.D Bharatesh College of Nursing, Halaga, Belagavi.

The objective of the guest lecture was to create awareness regarding mental health related issues and challenges from the perspective of women. The chief guest and guest speaker for the International Women’s Day celebration was Dr.Sreevani Rentala, Professor & HOD , Department of Psychiatric Nursing ,DIMHANS, Dharwad. The guest of Honor was Dr.Savitri. R Dodannavar, Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, Administrator, Deccan Medical Centre, Belagavi.

The programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the dignitaries. Prof. Dr. Sangeeta A Moreshwar, Principal, P.D Bharatesh College of Nursing, Halaga, Belagavi delivered the welcome address. Dr.Sreevani Rentala, highlighted the gender difference from the perspective of mental health, common mental health issues among women and how to cope up with those problems. Dr. Savitri. R Dodannavar addressed the gathering on importance of discipline and interpersonal relationship with other health care team members.

The programme came to end by the vote of thanks by Mrs.Vijayalaxmi AH, Assoc.Professor, P.D Bharatesh College of Nursing, Halaga, Belagavi.

All the teaching, non-teaching staffs and students attended the programme.

WORLD CANCER DAY 2021

P.D. Bharatesh college of Nursing, Halaga, Belagavi, Department of Medical Surgical Nursing organized Health awareness/education on Cancer disease on the eve of World Cancer Day on 4^th February 2021 with the Theme: “I am & I Will” at Kondaskoppa Village, Belagavi.

Globally, Cancer is the second leading cause of death and is responsible for an estimated 9.6 million deaths in 2018. The International Agency for Research on Cancer estimates that 1 in 5 people develop cancer during their lifetime, and 1 in 8 men and 1 in 11 women die from the disease. These new estimates suggest that more than 50 million people are living within five years of a past cancer diagnosis. In India 1,68,122 people and in Karnataka 20,084 people are diagnosed Cancer (ICMR atlas Publication).

Looking into statistics, Role play was performed by 3^rd year B.Sc Nursing & 2^nd year GNM Nursing students on Meaning, types, causes, diagnosis, treatment modalities and preventive measures of Cancer. More than 100 beneficiaries from the Kondaskoppa village were benefitted from the programme.
