P.D Bharatesh College of Nursing, Halaga, Belagavi, Department of Community Health Nursing organized a Health awareness programme on the occasion of World Tuberculosis Day on 24th March 2022 at Bastawad village under the guidance of Prof.Dr.Sangeeta A. Moreshwar, Principal, P.D Bharatesh College of Nursing, Halaga, Belagavi.
The World Tuberculosis Day is observed every year on 24th March with the aim of raising public awareness about the devastating health, social and economic consequences of TB and to step up efforts to end the global TB epidemic.
The theme of World Tuberculosis Day 2022 is -“Invest to End TB. Save lives” which implies the need of investing resources to fight against Tuberculosis and to ensure equitable access of services to prevent and care for TB patients especially in the context of COVID -19 pandemic which has put the End TB progress at risk.
The objective of the health awareness programme was to impart knowledge about prevention and treatment of Tuberculosis among the general population.
The health education was given through street play by Ist GNM Nursing students about causes, signs and symptoms, mode of transmission, treatment regimen, complications of treatment, diet and prevention of tuberculosis etc. After the street play the forum was open for queries and discussion. The villagers were actively involved the programme and were benefited.
