Lamp Lighting & Oath Taking Ceremony of 17th Batch of B.Sc. and 2nd GNM Nursing 2021
P.D. Bharatesh College of Nursing organized lamp Lighting & Oath taking ceremony of 17th Batch of B.Sc and 2nd batch of GNM Nursing students on 26th October 2021 at 11:00 am in Auditorium, Halaga, Belagavi. Lamp lighting ceremony, an auspicious occasion in every student’s life, is held in reverence to Florence Nightingale or Lady with the Lamp. This ceremony initiates the students into the noble profession of Nursing, which adorned in their uniforms for the first time. The program began with invocation song and welcome by Prof. Dr. Sangeeta A Moreshwar, Principal, PDBCN, Halaga, Belagavi and also recited the Florence Nightingale Oath to Budding Student Nurses.
Chief Guest, Dr. S. Sacchidanand, Former Vice-Chancellor, RGUHS, Bengaluru, highlighted importance of nursing profession and compassion which the nursing personnel carries throughout their life towards sick and needy and emphasized the importance of commitment in the profession and urged the students to imbibe technology into their practice.
Dr. Shivanand Mastiholi, Taluka Health Officer, Belagavi, congratulated the budding students for choosing the Noble Profession. He also briefed the importance and purpose of lamp lighting ceremony and congratulated the students for entering into the highly respected profession of nursing and provides you with the first opportunity to build a sense of community with your peers and faculty as you commence your academic journey towards becoming a Registered Nurse.
Dr. Devagouda I, MD and Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon and G.C Member, PDBCN, Halaga, Belagavi, said that, nursing profession is the backbone of the health care delivery system. Lots of new developments are taking place in the nursing profession and students should equip themselves with adequate skills and specialization.
The President of the function, Dr. Savitri R. Doddanavar G C Chairperson, PDBCN addressed the gathering and motivated the students towards nursing profession by highlighting the existing scope of nursing, its future prospects and encouraged to have adequate knowledge & appropriate training to provide best possible nursing services to the needy. Shri.Bushan Mirji, Treasurer, Bharatesh Education Trust, Belagavi, Shri. Vinod S. Doddanavar, Mr. Surendra Shahapure, Governing council Members, Distinguished invitee’s, of Head of Institution of Bharatesh education Trust, Belagavi and Parents of the budding students witnessed the programme. Mr. Mahesh Rebinal, Vice-Principal cum Professor, Department of Child Health Nursing, proposed the vote of thanks. Programme adjourned with National Anthem.
