P.D. Bharatesh college of Nursing, Halaga, Belagavi, Department of Medical Surgical Nursing had organized Display and Presentation of Posters on Tuberculosis disease at Halaga Village, Belagavi on the eve of World TB Day on 24th March 2021 with the Theme: “The Clock is Ticking”- conveys the sense that the Covid-19 pandemic has delayed the progress of curing TB and the world is running out of time to act on the commitments to end TB made by global leaders.
The average prevalence of all forms of tuberculosis in India is estimated to be 5.05 per thousand, prevalence of smear-positive cases 2.27 per thousand and average annual incidence of smear-positive cases at 84 per 1,00,000 annually. In 2020*, a total of 7,163 CASES of TB disease were reported.
Looking into statistics, 4th year B.Sc Nursing students Displayed and Presented the Charts and Models on Meaning, types, causes, diagnosis, treatment modalities and preventive measures of Tuberculosis. More than 100 beneficiaries from the Halaga village were benefitted from the programme.
The programme was followed under the Guidance and Supervision by Prof. Dr. Sangeeta A. Moreshwar Principal, P. D. Bharatesh College of Nursing Halaga, Belagavi.
