The department provides student centred teaching and learning in conducive atmosphere for hands on experience that helps the students to gain confidence in their nursing knowledge, skills and attitudinal practice. The faculty of the department focuses on the students’ knowledge, skills and altitudinal acquisition to meet the demands of changing patient demographics, disease severity and complexities in health care technologies.
The family members and their concerns are equally looked at when it comes to caring for patients in the critical care unit. Scope of practice in medical surgical nursing is evidence based in terms of procedural aspects and also the patient care. The subject is well thought and put across in second and third year B.Sc. nursing to cover the entire health system concerns logically. Critical procedures in patient care are trained through simulated patients so as to gain expertise and confidence in the students and thereby practice in the clinical areas. The course offers opportunity for students to learn adult health problems including geriatrics so as to equip with the understanding of providing comprehensive care.
BCLS Module
P.D. Bharatesh college of Nursing, Halaga, Belagavi, Department of Medical Surgical Nursing organized Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Hands on skill and Training workshop on10th May 2025 between 10 am to 3 pm for 3rd semester students as a of part curricular and elective module. The objective of the Training Programme was to provide oxygen to the heart and brain and to sustain tissue viability for a victim with sudden cardiac arrest within and outside the Hospital.

Bharatesh college of nursing Halaga Belagavi, Department of Medical surgical Nursing has organized the “WORLD DIABETES DAY” on 14th November 2024 at Yallur village to create awareness regarding Diabetes and its prevention through poster presentation and explained in detail in the local vernacular language to the 35-40 people by 3rd year B.Sc Nursing students at Yallur Primary Health centre campus regarding causes, signs & symptoms, treatment and prevention of Diabetes appreciated the organizers efforts laid down.

Bharatesh college of Nursing, Halaga, Belagavi, Department of Medical Surgical Nursing organized Blood Pressure Measurement and Health education programme on Hypertension on the eve of World Hypertension Day on 17th May 2024 with the Theme: “Measure your Blood Pressure Accurately, Control it, Live Longer” with the objective of Providing continuum of care from early detection to control of hypertension and improving quality of care is a critical factor for leading a healthy life. It can also lead to decrease in morbidity and mortality due to Cardio-Vascular Diseases (CVDs) at Sulaga Village, Belagavi.
