The Department of Obstetrical and Gynaecological Nursing takes pride in quality teaching. It provides courses in Obstetrical and Gynaecological nursing with theoretical and practical elements to undergraduate and postgraduate students. We prepare our graduates and postgraduates with necessary skills and knowledge to provide comprehensive maternal and child care. The department encourages student research in the core areas of women’s health, reproductive health, high risk pregnancy, neonatal care and related health areas pertaining to women and newborns. We ensure effective and efficient services to our student community and enable them to function as educators, managers and researchers in the field of maternity nursing.
Poster Presentation On Prevention Of Osteoporosis Among Menopausal And Postmenopausal Women-2025

Bharatesh college of Nursing, Halaga, Belagavi, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing Organized poster presentation on prevention of osteoporosis among Menopausal and postmenopausal women at Halaga Village, Belagavi. Initially brief introduction was given on menopause and post-menopause, followed by prevention of falls, fractures and other complications associated with osteoporosis were explained to the women residing in Halaga Village. More than 30 beneficiaries from the Halaga Village were benefitted from the programme. The programme was followed under the Guidance and Supervision by Prof. Dr. Sangeeta A. Moreshwar Principal, P. D. Bharatesh College of Nursing Halaga, Belagavi.
Seminar On “Midwives: Critical In Every Crises”
Seminar on “Midwives: Critical in Every Crises” was organized at P.D. Bharatesh College of Nursing, Halaga, Belagavi on 5th May 2025 on account of International Day of Midwives. The objective of the seminar was to equip midwives with advanced knowledge and skills in managing crisis effectively. Inauguration of seminar started at 11.30am. Prof. Dr. Sangeeta Moreshwar, Principal, P. D. Bharatesh College of Nursing, Halaga, Belagavi welcomed the Guest and gave a keynote address and seminar overview. Dr. Jyoti Salunkhe, Professor Dept. of OBG Nursing, Krishna Institute of Nursing Sciences, Karad, Maharashtra explained the importance and role of Midwives in crises while handling birth emergencies. Dr. Savitri R Doddanavar G C Chairperson P. D. Bharatesh College of Nursing, Halaga, Belagavi added presidential remark for the inauguration. Sessions of seminar began at 10.30am. Around 140 delegates were participated in the seminar.
The first session Midwives & Maternal Rights: Advocacy in times of crises. Continuity of care: Ensuring maternal and neonatal health during system disruptions was dealt by Prof Shridevi Desai, P. D. Bharatesh College of Nursing, Halaga, Belagavi.
Second session was started at 1.30am by Dr. Jyoti Salunkhe, Professor Dept. of OBG Nursing, Krishna Institute of Nursing Sciences, Karad, Maharashtra on Emergency preparedness for midwives: Building resilience in crisis settings.
The third session was started at 2.30 pm by Mrs. Bijalee Mundinmani, Asso Prof Dept. of OBG Nursing, SDM Institute of Nursing Sciences, Dharwad on Mental Health and Midwifery: Caring for the caregivers during crises.
Fourth session was carried out by Mrs. Arpana Sanadi, Asso Prof, P.D. Bharatesh College of Nursing, Halaga, Belagavi on Crisis communication for midwives: Connecting with families under stress and Midwives as Leaders: Shaping health systems in crises and beyond. Felicitation of the Resource persons was done by Prof. Dr. Sangeeta A Moreshwar, Principal, P. D. Bharatesh College of Nursing, Halaga, Belagavi after each session.
The Valedictory proceedings were started at 4.30pm. Feedback was collected from delegates. Organizing secretary of seminar Mrs. Arpana B Sanadi proposed vote of Thanks and seminar adjourned at 5pm.
