SNA unit of P. D. Bharatesh College of Nursing, Halaga, Belagavi, hosted Annual Sports Meet-2021-22 from 9th to 11th May 2022 at Sports ground P. D. Bharatesh College of Nursing, Halaga, Belagavi, days were filled with excitement experienced amidst thrills, shrills and cheers.
Sports meet begun with invocation song and inaugural dance by the students. Welcome speech and oath was administered for students to participate in the sports day with true sportsman spirit by Prof. Dr. Sangeeta Moreshwar, Principal, P. D. Bharatesh College of Nursing, Halaga, Belagavi. The Annual Sport Meet was declared open by the chief guest and other dignitaries on the dias by releasing balloons.
Chief Guest Mr. Raghavendra Anavekar, Ekalavya Awardee & Para Asian Game Medalist, encouraged the students to participate in the sports events and elaborated the significance of sports in daily life to keep every individual happy & healthy. Presiding officer Dr. Savitri R. Doddanavr, G C Chairperson, P. D. Bharatesh College of Nursing, Halaga, Belagavi, explained about importance of physical activities to keep physical and mental health at optimum level. This was followed by the salute of the impressive march past of the students, coupled with some marching music by the band, a highly competitive event where the four houses Green, Red, Blue and Yellow eyed for the first place. The audience next witnessed various displays symbolizing alternative sources of energy. At the end of the day, students departed with a clear smile on their faces as the Red House emerged as House Champions for March past. It was a day filled with sportsmanship, enthusiasm and memories to cherish. The inaugural program adjourned with vote of thanks by Mrs. Chrostina P, Assistant Professor, P. D. Bharatesh College of Nursing, Halaga, Belagavi.
Thereafter, events of the day started and all the students participated in various sports like athletics, relay, cricket, kabaddi, volley ball, throw ball, carom, chess etc with full sportsman spirit.
