Celebration of International Yoga Day at P.D Bharatesh College of Nursing, Halaga, Belagavi on 21st June 2023. The Chief Guest for the programme was Mr.Vijaykumar I. Kadam, Yoga Instructor, Belagavi.
The Inauguration of Simulation/Skill Lab was held on 8th June 2023 at 3.30 pm in P. D. Bharatesh College of Nursing, Halaga, Belagavi. The program began with invocation song by the students and welcome speech by Prof. Dr. Sangeeta A Moreshwar, Principal, P. D. Bharatesh College of Nursing, Halaga, Belagavi. The Chief Guest, Basavaraj R. Patil, Surgical Oncologist, Chairman, R.B. Patil Hospital, Hubli & Chairman, Karnataka Cancer Therapy & Research Institute, Navanagar, Hubli appreciated the managing committee efforts and support towards nursing profession and also highlighted about the quality of nursing education and scope of nursing services worldwide. Sir appreciated the campus and facilities provided by the management. The Guest of Honor, Dr. Ramesh P. Doddanavar, Managing Director & Consultant Physician, Deccan Medical Center Belagavi elaborated the role and commitments of nurses in hospital and society & also endorsed for the complete utilization of the skill lab to gain hands on skills for providing quality care for the patients. Shri. Vinod S Doddanavar, Secretary, Bharatesh Education Trust, Belagavi advised and motivated the students to make use of the simulation lab at the maximum. In the Presidential remark, Dr. Savitri R Doddanavar, Consultant, Obstetric & Gynecologist & G.C Chairperson, P. D. Bharatesh College of Nursing, Halaga, Belagavi emphasized on simulation-based education not only benefits budding nurses but sharpen their skills without jeopardizing patient safety and patient autonomy. Shri. Bhushan Mirji, Treasurer, Bharatesh education trust, Belagavi stressed on importance of working with commitment & dedication along with acquired skills for the improvement of the society.
Vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. Mr. Mahesh M Rebinal, Vice Principal from PDBCN, Halaga, Belagavi. The program was adjourned with national anthem.
P.D. Bharatesh College of Nursing organized lamp Lighting & Oath taking ceremony of 19th Batch of B.Sc and 4th batch of GNM Nursing students on 1st March 2023 at 11:00 am in Auditorium, Halaga, Belagavi. Lamp lighting ceremony, an auspicious occasion in every student’s life, is held in reverence to Florence Nightingale or Lady with the Lamp. This ceremony initiates the students entry into the noble profession of Nursing, which adorned in their uniforms for the first time. The program began with invocation song by the students and welcome speech by Prof. Dr. Sangeeta A Moreshwar, Principal, PDBCN, Halaga, Belagavi and also recited the Florence Nightingale Oath to Budding Student Nurses.
Chief Guest, Dr. R Sreevani, Professor & HOD Department of Psychiatric Nursing, Dharwad Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, Dharwad, elaborated on the history of Nursing profession in the world and in India. Madam also added the importance of continuous learning & gaining the knowledge & skills throughout their life to provide quality care to the sick & needy. Madam also briefed the importance and purpose of lamp lighting ceremony and congratulated the students for entering into the highly respected profession of nursing.
Guest of honour, Lt Col Meena FA, Matron Incharge, Military Hospital, Belagavi, congratulated the budding students for choosing the Noble Profession.
Dr. Devagouda I, MD and Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon and G.C Member, PDBCN, Halaga, Belagavi, praised the students and elaborated that profession is the backbone of the medical care system. Lots of new developments are taking place in the nursing profession and new entrants need to ensure that they keep themselves updated with adequate skills and specialization.
Dr. B H Metgud. Administrator, Kasbekar Metgud Centre, Belagavi, highlighted on proactive approach of nurses towards patient and family members. Sir also briefed about being empathetic & compassionate while caring for the patients.
The President of the function, Dr. Savitri R. Doddanavar G C Chairperson, PDBCN addressed the gathering and encouraged the students to utilize the valuable resources at their fullest. Madam emphasized the importance of commitment in the profession and urged the students to imbibe technology into their practice.
Dr. Swaroopa Metgud Administrator, Kasbekar Metgud Centre, Belagavi, Mr. Surendra Shahapure & Mr. Sharad Balikai, Governing council Members BET, Distinguished invitee’s, of Head of Institution of Bharatesh education Trust, Belagavi and Parents of the budding students witnessed the programme. Mr. Kiran S, Assistant Professor, Department of Medical Surgical Nursing, proposed the vote of thanks. Programme adjourned with National Anthem.
NSS Special Camp was inaugurated on 11.07.2022 at 3.30pm. International Yoga Day is celebrated on 21st June every year since 2015. The theme of International Yoga Day 2022 is “Yoga for Humanity” which focuses on numerous benefits of Yoga during covid -19 pandemic and how it helps to achieve holistic health of every individual.
The objective of the guest lecture was to update knowledge about importance of Yoga in Daily life among faculty, B.Sc (N) and GNM (N) students. The resource person was Dr.Sanjeev S Tonni, MD (Ayu), M.Sc (CN&D), PGDYS (Yoga), Associate Professor, Department of Swasthavritta, KAHER’s Shri B M Kankanawadi Ayurveda Mahavidyalay & Hospital, Belagavi.
Dr.Sanjeev S Tonni explained the necessity of inculcating yoga into our daily life to lead a happy life and how it helps people to stay energetic and have strong immune system.
Bharatesh Education Trust has organized International Yoga Day on 21st June 2022 at Bharatesh Campus, Belagavi. All the staffs have actively participated in the programme.
