P.D. Bharatesh College of Nursing organized lamp Lighting & Oath taking ceremony of 19^th Batch of B.Sc and 4^th batch of GNM Nursing students on 1^st March 2023 at 11:00 am in Auditorium, Halaga, Belagavi. Lamp lighting ceremony, an auspicious occasion in every student’s life, is held in reverence to Florence Nightingale or Lady with the Lamp. This ceremony initiates the students entry into the noble profession of Nursing, which adorned in their uniforms for the first time. The program began with invocation song by the students and welcome speech by Prof. Dr. Sangeeta A Moreshwar, Principal, PDBCN, Halaga, Belagavi and also recited the Florence Nightingale Oath to Budding Student Nurses.

Chief Guest, Dr. R Sreevani, Professor & HOD Department of Psychiatric Nursing, Dharwad Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, Dharwad, elaborated on the history of Nursing profession in the world and in India. Madam also added the importance of continuous learning & gaining the knowledge & skills throughout their life to provide quality care to the sick & needy.  Madam also briefed the importance and purpose of lamp lighting ceremony and congratulated the students for entering into the highly respected profession of nursing.

Guest of honour, Lt Col Meena FA, Matron Incharge, Military Hospital, Belagavi, congratulated the budding students for choosing the Noble Profession.

Dr. Devagouda I, MD and Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon and G.C Member, PDBCN, Halaga, Belagavi, praised the students and elaborated that profession is the backbone of the medical care system. Lots of new developments are taking place in the nursing profession and new entrants need to ensure that they keep themselves updated with adequate skills and specialization.

Dr. B H Metgud. Administrator, Kasbekar Metgud Centre, Belagavi, highlighted on proactive approach of nurses towards patient and family members. Sir also briefed about being empathetic & compassionate while caring for the patients.

The President of the function, Dr. Savitri R. Doddanavar G C Chairperson, PDBCN addressed the gathering and encouraged the students to utilize the valuable resources at their fullest. Madam emphasized the importance of commitment in the profession and urged the students to imbibe technology into their practice.

Dr. Swaroopa Metgud Administrator, Kasbekar Metgud Centre, Belagavi, Mr. Surendra Shahapure & Mr. Sharad Balikai, Governing council Members BET, Distinguished invitee’s, of Head of Institution of Bharatesh education Trust, Belagavi and Parents of the budding students witnessed the programme. Mr. Kiran S, Assistant Professor, Department of Medical Surgical Nursing, proposed the vote of thanks. Programme adjourned with National Anthem.

 

NSS Special Camp was inaugurated on 11.07.2022 at 3.30pm. The  Chief Guest for the  for the function was Dr.Shivanand  Mastiholi, Taluka  Health Officer, Belagavi, President of the function was Dr.Savitri R.Doddanavar, G C Chairperson, P .D Bharatesh College of Nursing,  Halaga, Belagavi,  other  guests were Dr.Ramesh Dandagi, Medical Officer, Primary Health Centre ,Yellur and Mr.Charukeerti  Saibannavar, Social Worker, Halaga.

 

P.D Bharatesh College of Nursing, Halaga ,Belagavi along with NSS Unit of the college organized a guest lecture on “Yoga as a life style” on the occasion of International Yoga Day 2022 on 11^th  June  2022 at Auditorium,P. D. Bharatesh College of Nursing, Halaga, Belagavi under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Sangeeta A Moreshwar, Principal,P.D Bharatesh College of Nursing, Halaga, Belagavi.

International Yoga Day is celebrated on 21^st June every year since 2015. The theme of International Yoga Day 2022 is “Yoga for Humanity” which focuses on numerous benefits of Yoga during covid -19 pandemic and how it helps to achieve holistic health of every individual.

The objective of the guest lecture was to update knowledge about importance of Yoga in Daily life among faculty, B.Sc (N) and GNM (N) students. The resource person was Dr.Sanjeev S Tonni, MD (Ayu), M.Sc (CN&D), PGDYS (Yoga), Associate Professor, Department of Swasthavritta, KAHER’s Shri B M Kankanawadi Ayurveda Mahavidyalay & Hospital, Belagavi.

Dr.Sanjeev S Tonni explained the necessity of inculcating yoga into our daily life to lead a happy life and how it helps people to stay energetic and have strong immune system.

Bharatesh Education Trust has organized International Yoga Day on 21^st June 2022 at Bharatesh Campus, Belagavi. All the staffs have actively participated in the programme.

 

International Nurses Day was observed on 12^th May 2022 at P D Bharatesh College of Nursing, Halaga, Belagavi.

The program begun with invocation song followed by the welcome speech by Prof. Dr. Sangeeta A Moreshwar, Principal, P D Bharatesh College of Nursing, Halaga, Belagavi and also unfolded the theme for the International Nurses Day-2022 and emphasized that the success in any aspect of life is enacted by working from the bottom of the heart as like we can take it from the life of Miss. Florence Nightingale. Chief Guest Dr. Shivani P Angolkar, Consultant Anesthesiologist, Belagavi, motivated the students to have high visionary goals in their professional life by stressing that Nursing is a unique profession that focus on service oriented goal towards serving the mankind. The programme was presided over by Dr. Savitri R. Doddanavar, G C Chairperson, P.D. Bharatesh College of Nursing, Halaga, Belagavi, Nurses were urged to get inspiration from the life of Florence and to reaffirm their pledged to give their best possible service for the cause of health service in the land in her inspirational speech.

Institution felicitated the Nursing Superintendent/ Incharge from affiliated hospitals of Belagavi for their mankind service in the nursing profession. The program was adjourned with vote of thanks by Mrs. Shridevi S. Sajane, Associate Professor, P.D. Bharatesh College of Nursing, Halaga, Belagavi.

 

The Fresher’s Day Celebration of 9^th Batch of M.Sc, 17^th Batch of B.Sc and 3^rd Batch of GNM Nursing was organized by P. D. Bharatesh College of Nursing, Halaga, Belagavi on 05^th May 2022 at 11:30 am. The programme began with invocation song by the students followed by welcome speech by Prof. Dr. Sangeeta A Moreshwar, Principal, PDBCN, Halaga, Belagavi. The Chief guest Dr. Gomtesh Kusnale, Consultant General & Laproscopic Surgeon, Venugram Hospital, Belagavi, briefed about the learning & acquiring the basic nursing skills to practice nursing effectively and also highlighting the existing scope of nursing, its future prospects and encouraged to have adequate knowledge & appropriate training to provide best possible nursing services to the needy. The Presiding officer Dr. Savitri R. Doddanavar, Consultant Obstetrics & Gynecologist, Deccan Medical Centre and GC Chairperson, PDBCN, Halaga, Belagavi congratulated the Fresher’s on Behalf of the Management committee and informed about the facilities and quality of education in this Institute. The programme was followed by the cultural events.
